How do you tighten the handbrake?

Postby Higherlux on Thu, 16 Jun 2011 7:03 +0000

Mine is so loose it won't even hold on a slight gradient, just had the brakes done and I am sick of going back to mechanics after a job is done. Can you do it yourself and if so, how? Any pics for reference would be much appreciated.

You can do it yourself. It's very easy. Follow the instructions for adjusting rear brake drums in this link
 viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4036 . Make sure your handbrake is off when adjusting the drums. You will find the drum brake adjustment tool in good auto shops.
