100% mate, caught up with a guy yesterday who's got an alternate chip, he's going straight to west end for a new steinbauer , to replace his. My economy is fantastic !

Has anyone returned a steinbauer, I see that there is a 30 day money back guarantee. If I am not happy with the increase can I just send it back and get full refund.

That's about 7.5L/100km (as a guestimate), damn fantastic economy! How much of that was freeway and how loaded up were you?

Installed a steinbauer module on my Feb built 2006 hilux today. Very happy with the results so far only done a bit of driving I installed a switch inside to turn the module off so i could test on the run if it was making a actual difference not just in my head after forking out $1400 :D With it off going up a steep hill in 5th gear with high load sitting on 100kph i couldnt accelarate any faster flicking the module on you instantly feel the ute surge and pull easily upto a higher speed. Same goes under load with the power module on when swithing it off you instantly feel it back off. Money well spent with a noticable increase in power with no smoke or engine lights etc

So ordered the steinbauer for my 2012 sr5 auto today after reading this thread, i already have a manta 3inch exhaust system with hi-flow cat which to be honest i couldnt tell any difference in performance of the car, just more noise!
I will get the car on the dyno before and after fitting and see what kind of power gaing i get.
One thing i found out today was that the chip will not work when cruise control is engaged only when you put the boot into it, i read earlier on this thread that they were trying to resolve this but apparently my supplier reckons they couldnt get it to work properly, does anyone know anything different to this?
Anyhow will post up the dyno results when i get them on here!

Mine works with factory cruise no problem (2005 model). Yes the chip only works after about 40-50% throttle or something like that. This can be tuned/adjust rhough. Mine comes in at about 15-20%, in reality all the time, only on very light application doesit not work and as you slowly squeese the throttle on you can definitely feel the chip kick in. So normal driving its there all the time. Peak hour crawling traffic you can stay off the chip and save the fuel. Works for me.

The standard way to install is to hook the trigger wire up to the wire on the throttle pedal. If you intend using the cruise control it has to be wired up differently otherwise it will not activate when you are on cruise control

Sprint booster will not work with steinbauer , it's goes into limp mode and the steinbauer had a pedal wire attached ! Ultimate suspension can verify this.

I have a Steinbauer chip and the Sprint Booster supplied by Ultimate and they work together perfectly. I also have cruise control and that works with everything perfectly, as well.

If you open the bonnet you will find that the Ultimate Suspension Hilux is running a Steinbauer and a Sprint Booster ;)

I also have a sprint booster and a steinbauer and never had an issue. It's a brilliant combo. Maybe that mob sell another brand chip. The old saying sow the seed of doubt
