Not playing Devils Advocate, but once id ordered my LUX a month ago, i was researching the Chips/Modules heavily id spoken to half dozen 4x4 places and Module makers, and i came to the conclusion that the Steinbaur is the best in the business and when your toying with a 50K+ New HIlux, you have to get it right !

They are a very well made chip that works well for what it is but very over priced for what it can do, just my two cents.

Ok as of 10am this morning Steinbaur Module which also controls the Turbo has been fitted and yeah at a cost of $1950 inc GST as i do have the 3" exhaust, so i went for the next module up as reccomended. The install was done in 90 minutes and looks completely factory.

Observations and bare in mind i have a 2013 Hilux / AUTO

Local roads at normal take off etc and speeds, there is a massive increase in power, especially once you get above 1200 RPM right through the rev range, above 2000, she will just keep pulling through the gear changes

On M2 Freeway, Cruise set on 100 kph, Rev's sat on 1350 , she kept on 100 easily up inclines you could gently hear the engine ticking over with slight revs higher, she just did it with ease, much Smoother engine , better idle. i took cruise off, and decided to overtake some cars, it did it with absolute ease ! the surge of power after 1400 rpm right up there as i step on it, is a vast change compared to the factory engine.

fwiw all the above was also done on a full tank of fuel.

Was the $$$$$ worth it ? 100% yes ! is the 3" exhaust worth it? yes......Overpriced ? nope you do get what you pay for and when you spend 50K plus on a New SR5 i think its worth it.

Very Satisfied, and NO Codes because i went with the more expensive Module which controls the Turbo Actuator / Turbo as well as all the rest.......

If anyone goes the module i went, you will not get codes.

I also found in interesting that when i arrived, there was a Guy with a Prado, i said mate are you getting one too ? he said ive got one but ARB didnt actually connect it :( so he said ive had no extra power for the last 8 months, the guys at West End repaired and refitted it, and tyhe guy took his prado for a drive and was all smiles ! , pays to go too the right people. all ARB did was give him 2 free fold out chairs for his dramas.

Hi Scratchblades
Mate I have a 2012 auto single cab with shocking economy compared to my manual 2012 sr5 .
What's yours using around town with chip and before seeing as your in Sydney too. Who fitted your chip and did they do exhaust too.

Sr5 manual 600 to 640km per tank
Sr auto 400km per tank round town

G/Day Ute Mad.

I picked up my new Lux Last Saturday, it already had 120Km on it as it had to go places to get stuff done through the dealer, but they'd filled it when it came off the truck at the dealership, Ive only driven from the southside to the northside a few times and up the M2 a couple of times this week, i purposefully ran it untill the light came on this arvo. According to the ODO ive done 728KM on one tank. The info guage said average was 10.3 L/100

Westend Diesal did the Chip and CAV Fuel Filter this morning. I have a mate over in North Sydney, who's gotten 820 out of a Tank  and 9.7L/100 he reckons the more Kay's hes doing its getting better. he also has the same exhaust and Steinbauer.

Hi-Tech at Darlinghurst did my Exhaust, ask for NICO its a father and son business and been in exhaust for 33 years so they know there stuff, even West End knew of them.

I had a TRD 08 model that was getting 348Km a tank ! before the new LUX

Anybody know if the chip in the for sale section is the type you need for the 3" exhaust?

His not to sure, and this is make or break for me
