265/65/R18s no Lift Amount of Rub

Finally the new Hilux reached the UK market and I`m placing my order this week. Keen to install the BGF All Terrain 265/65/R18s on the standard alloys and suspension as suppose to the original 265/60/R18s.

Read a couple posts on this subject but really like to have a better understanding on:

1- Is the rubbing to the mud flap noted by people who installed these just on FULL LOCK?
2- Has anyone actually modified the mud flap i.e. bent it slightly to eliminate the issue & does it work?
3- Like to avoid a lift as I don`t do too much heavy duty off roading rather than using the truck to drive in muddy farm & woodland tracks hence like the extra clearance: If I don`t and run the 265/65s will I end up rubbing too much and damaging the tyre?

Any other input will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Sam

Any rubbing will just be at or near full lock and with some compression on the front wheel. You are never going fast in these circumstances so you would not expect to damage a tyre.

I've just bought a new SR5 dual cab which is currently awaiting a swag of ARB improvements. It's getting an OME suspension kit under it as well so I'm pretty sure the lift is approximately 50mm Will I have any issues scrubbing the tyres with this setup?

Sorry to insistently . Ja sent pictures of my Hilux with BFGoodrich 275/65/18 tires with wheels and original suspension, without change some . Here in Brazil the Toyota brand is riding these tires within the dealers without changing warranty pickup . If you can live with small scratches in the mud flap , you do not have any problem putting . They shave less than the previous generation 265/70/17 .
I recommend these measures without any problem , it is very beautiful in this setting .
In Brazil we have only this size available for sale, so all put this measure ( 275/65/18 ) .

Just put the BF goodrich ko2 265/65/18s on the stock rim, rubs on the mud flap at full lock on uneven ground apart from that its pretty good.

Hey guys just purchased a new SR5 and have read all the threads on here. About to put some KO2s on the stock rims. A lot of guys have mentioned they have put the 265/65s on and get some rub on full lock.

My question is if I'm awainting the arrival of a genuine heavy duty steel tray and want to add a summit bar that's going to make them rub even more correct with the extra weight? I want to add a lift eventually but the $$ are adding up fast!

Should I just stick to the 265/60 R18s in the KO2s? Surely there isn't a huge difference between them? One is only slightly bigger they'd still look and preform very similar wouldn't they?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

265/60R18 or 265/65R18 KO2s with steel tray and bar work

Hey guys sorry to post this here if it's not the right place but I need a quick answer and not sure how many people read the tyre section.

I have no rub at all with BFG AT 265/65/R18 on the stock rims and suspension.
The truck will sit higher & its noticeable. I have no other add on bits so don`t know if weight is going to affect it but so far no issues what so ever....

I have a 2 inch lift with BFG 265/70/17 which are the equivalent to a 265/65/18 and I still get a very slight rub on the inner guard when turning with the wheel compressed.
Prior to the lift it rubbed a lot... castor all the way forward with the wheel alignment too.

Has anyone tried running with negative offsets wheel package (18x10 -24) on stock suspension?
