Best clutch?

I've had enough of toyota shithouse clutches. I'm on my 4th one (80000km's) and this one has started slipping when loaded up in 4th and 5th gear low in the rev range (1500-2500rpm). Whats the best aftermarket clutch everyone's using?. I want to sort it out once and for all as the rest of the ute has been good. They have to stop putting echo clutches in to a hilux :D
Cheers.

Thanks guys, dluxv6 is the clutch feel much heavier to use? dosen't worry me if it is. Fair dinkum putting your foot on the clutch in this thing is like putting your foot on a wet sponge!, it just dosen't and never has felt right. I also own a 09 SSV sportswagon and it's clutch feels 100% better its lighter to use as well. The SSV is putting out around 280kw at the wheels (tune exhaust etc) and the hilux is stock engine wise. I've been told the clutches in the v8 holdens are no good.....go figure!
Cheers.

I have the Exedey Safari Tuff clutch. Could not be any happier with it and I believe its a tad softer than the standard. You will never regret getting one, you can do big big sand dune climbs in Hi Range 1st, would never have done that with standard one. Mine cost me $500 through work, believe they retail about $900. If you deal with motor traders or know someone who deals with them for work get them to get it for you as it you save quite a bit.

Hey Mate,

Give Ultimate Suspension a call, they have just developed a heavy duty clutch for the Hilux's.
Good price and like everything they make will be excellent quality.

02 9603 7677.

Ask for Ken or Brendan.

Cheers

I ordered an Exedy HD clutch kit coz I just started to find out the 05' stock clutches are under-performed. I head to Sydney in two days to pick it up. I can't wait to put it on the truck and see how it feels. I wish we had more options here in the islands. So far our toyota dealer here would get a stock part package, break it up and sell the part and each bolt that came with seperately.

I have been reading through peoples opinions and experiences with after market clutches. The Excedy Safari HD and the Ultimate - Clutch Industries '4 Terrain' are the clear favourites. Mate got a quote from Clutch Pro, there HD retails at $599, has anyone had or heard of anyone installing one of these in there Lux?

I have an Exedy tuff clutch; took a while to get used to it as it seemed a bit soft, also with long pedal travel, but has now done a couple of Simpson desert crossings as well as 1000's of kilometres of outback travel. Probably about 70k on it now. I now have complete confidence in it, and I might add that I don't tow anything so cannot offer an opinion in that respect.
