If anyone can solve this for me I would be stoked.
Ive just about finished installing a set of lightforce spotties up front and also have a custom illuminated rocker fitted.
The switch is working fine and the spotties come on with high beam aswell as having the rocker to turn them off if need be. The problem I am facing is with the illumination of the rocker switch. I have the dash lights illuminating the lower lamp as I have just taken this from the PWR Heat switch on the RHS of the dash. The upper lamp inside the switch, the one that turns on when the switch is on, is proving to be a bit more of a headache. I have powered this switch (pin 8) from the accesories circuit (cig. lighter) and when the accesories are on the system works fine, however if the accesories are not on then the upper lamp has a very pale glow and at time the spotties relay will switch on, not all the time though.
The problem lies in the 12V that is coming from the spotties relay (86) to the switch pin (3) which then backfeeds (pin 8) and the accesories circuit. I figure there is something in the accesories that completes the circuit to ground like a radio or globe. The effect is that the 12V is dropped across the spotties relay, upper illunination lamp and the unknown accesories all in series, which is why the lamp has a very faint glow. The only way I can see that this can be avoided is by having a diode in the supply from the accesoires circuit but since I cant find any information on this problem then I'm starting to think that I have made a mistake.
