Valve caps.

For those that are old enough to remember the valve caps with the valve remover tool and rubber cap...there is a mob in Germany selling a chromed version that goes very well with the Hilux alloy rims.
I grabbed 20x and am pleased with the purchase, they are a quality product.

For those that aren't old enough, the caps aren't torn off by sticks when idling around the paddock...the plastic caps get torn off readily.

I had them on a previous car -till some jackass decided to use them against me by removing 2 of my valve cores.
i just carry one in the tyre repair kit now , along with spare cores of course

I was just about to say the same thing... Lol just the thing for some nasty little beast to let your tyres down!

But yes I do remember them and was forever getting them pinched, probably by the same little bugger to give to his mates. I also bought some chrome ones once and they didn't last a week... Seems the kids were gaining status by the number they collected. Just like Mercedes Benz stars, great collectibles for those little buggers

Used to have a jam jar full of the brass ones. Even decided to count them once. nearly a 1000.

Its about half full now. Give em out 4 at a time to friends who want a few. Use 2 of the old film canisters (like a mini tupperware) to hold them along with a few cores, and a couple those screw together valves incase the rubber ones get ripped out.

It has been my experience that most are lost at the local tyre fitters, they seem to like changing them out for the plastic ones, or they are just too damn lazy to put the same caps back on the tyre...I prefer these to standard Schrader metal caps as I find it easier to grip the rubber top and spin the cap on.

They are usually fitted to truck tubes as new. Under the rubber cap, there is the "screwdriver" slot to permit removal and insertion of the valve core. will find a pic....

See the pictures above and you'll see the rubber cap comes off to reveal a handy valve core removal tool, great for letting your mate's tyres down or just deflating the tyres.

Also they don't come off as easily as plastic ones in the bush because they're metal.
