Hi,

I have a 2016 Hilux SR5 Dual cab Diesel.. when I look at 'MyToyota' on the Toyota web site I get told about a recall ...

Before I call the dealer I thought I would see if anyone here knows any more

From my understanding the ecu reprogram is to improve the operation of the dpf

I've just checked mine and it's on there as well. I had a service done last month so this is something new. Timely since they need to fix all the other re-occurring issues which have come back since service.

Yep same here MyToyota shows the recall but there has been no mail or email notification.

Just talked to my dealer and yep we got it in sweden to but it's just gone out so no mail about it yet.

My dealer said it's not a safety related recall. It'll take up to 1.5 hours to do, may be done faster but not any longer.

Does anyone know what the update does? Will this result in more frequent DPF cycles than the normal 400km timing?

Yep got that but that's not what i'm asking for, there should be another number. Also in sweden it seems it's actually not a recall but some service thing but it does have that number on it in the papers if you look into it a bit they said.

Just had my reprogram done this afternoon. It only took about 20-30 minutes. My dealer has a pub within 200meyres of it. I was meeting a mate for a beer whilst the reprogram was being done. Had just finished my first beer and they rung and said it was ready. They pretty much said that the software is old and that this update will prevent the dpf from blocking.

Had mine done today as well. The dealer said that it will take another 1000k for the ECU to re-learn my driving style.
It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, it has on the regenerations, I can't say that I've ever noticed any issue though - in the 10,000 km I've had mine it's probably only done a noticeable regeneration (i.e. high idle etc) less than 10-12 times that I can recall.

Had mine done yesterday, only thing I've noticed so far is it idles smoother.
