Anyone have experience with OME suspension on a pre 2005 lux without bullbar? Searched for this one and not seeing much...

I've just had OME suspension upgrade on my 2000 SR5. I also replaced the Breaker alloy bar with an ARB winch capable bull bar. 1st thing I noticed was the ride was better, speed bumps definitely were smoother. I will be giving it a workout next weekend off road so will see how it performs. I also had ARB front and rear diff lockers fitted. Will compare performance over terrain where I had problems last time.

G'day i have a 2003 Dual Cab SR5 3.4L V6 (torsion bar front end). I know that my car differs from yours in that it has a bullbar and a few other mods, but if you go to ARB and ddiscuss what you have on your vehicle (or what you intend to put on your vehicle) then tell them ehat you want out of your suspension i don't think you can go wrong if you are after OME kit. They did my ute about 2 years ago now with the "OME Nitrocharger Sport" Range shockies and i got Heavy duty leaf springs in the back becasue i am a chippy carrying tools all the time. when i go camping she is still fairly well loaded up in the back and with a long range tank and dual battery system in the back i have managed to get the balance and ride performance of the vehicle pretty much perfect. This kit doesn't wind up the front torsion bars to much hence the soft ride, which will save your CV's and other components in the long run aswel.

She is comfortable around town and more than capable when it comes to going offroad. I still have pretty good articulation for leaf spring vehicle and it gave me a decent 50mm lift all the way around, which is perfect for a little bit of challenging stuff and plenty of touring which is what i mainly do. I have taken this thing places where my mates go with big 4 inch snake racing kits and the like and my rig makes it through with them, mind u a few scrapes on the underside.

I have now done about 75,000km and still going strong the whole thing took about 5000km to fully settle down and since then i haven't noticed any drop off in performance. Please bare in mind that this is my personal experience with only using 1 suspension brand on this vehicle apart from stock BUT!! I can honestly say that i am happy with this package and would not hesitate to recommend it to any1 else. OME have a good name for a reason. Good luck with your choice of suspension

Csale,
My set up is much the same as Spruces, but I have the OME Nitorcharger shocks (not the Sport range). I went to ARB, told them what I planned to use the ute for and they set up the most suitable rig. I have heavier leaf springs in the back and torsion bars with the IFS in the front. I have the extra weight of draws in the back and added a 2nd battery in the back also.

Cheers
