Lightforce XGT anti theft

Lightforce XGT anti theft

Just thought I would share what I did to my XGT's today to hopefully keep them on my truck
I have the security locknuts that you buy to mount them to the bar but you can still easily remove the vertical adjustment bolt and remove the rest of the light so to counter this I made some threaded ferrules by cutting down some S/S nutserts

And then changed the bolt over to a longer one and locktited the ferrules onto the end so that you can still loosen off the bolt to make adjustments but you cannot remove it without a lot of stuffing around

Hopefully it does the job and I get to keep them :D

very nice idea mate... not sure if they make them for the XGT's but some of the other lightforce lights have a plate that bolts under the light then bends up and sits in a grooved bolt that goes though the vertical adjustment hole... not sure if i explained that well

might try and find them myself as ive got XGT's and not impressed how you can just undo the vertical bolt and there gone.

They do those for the Genesis but not the XGT so that is what started me thinking of alternatives

Sorry to reserect an old thread.

Has anybody used the new lightforce XGT cross bolt security kits? The one with the two security bolts that provide more clamping force. Are they easy to bypass by a thief with vice grips or long nose pliers or are the heads recessed enough to prevent easy access?

Just not sure if the recess on the mounts are enough to stop the thiefs using vice grips or long nose pliers to undo them.
Anybody have them fitted?
