It sounds like normal overfuelling on start. As you probably know, diesel engines don't have a choke, the injectors increase the fuel delivered to the engine to compensate for a cold engine. When hot, the ECU reduces fuel delivery to normal and the engine will run normally.
Have you coded the new injectors? They require coding to match the ECU.
