EGT Probe

Postby Ace95 on Wed, 17 Jan 2018 11:02 +0000

Hey was thinking about getting an Egt and boost gauge, would like to kno where everyone has put there egt probe? I have searched abit but cant find a proper answer

Redarcs page says 2.8l with dpf cant put the the probe before the dpf filter and reccomends to put it after the dpf but to set the warning to maximum temp because of dpf regens.

Surely theres a spot before it? Has anyone done this already and workes it out where to put it before the dpf?

Cheers

My advice is dont touch the DPF at all. Dealers are already having a hard time with them, dont give them the slightest reason not to warrant it.

Agreed with davo don't touch it or face no help from Toyota. Trust the factory sensors and differential between burnoff and normal running temp. If you MUST have a gauge find one which uses factory sensors
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.
